PURPOSE:To improve the resistance to heat, wear and thermal impact of a heat insulating structural body by bonding chemically ceramic powder to the outside wall surface of a vacuum vessel packed therein with a porous metallic material thereby forming a film thereon. CONSTITUTION:A porous metallic material 2 is packed into a vacuum vessel 1 formed of a heat resistant metallic plate and is united by a heat treatment, etc. At least one kind of ceramic material selected from ZrO2, SiO2, Al2O3, Cr2O3, CaF2, etc. is calcined by chemical bonding of Cr2O3 on at least the outside surface of the vessel 1 facing a high temp. to form a ceramic film 3 thereon. The thickness of the film is made about 50-150mum. Such structural body is highly resistant to heat, wear, corrosion and thermal impact and is therefore applicable to a heat insulating type piston of an internal-combustion engine. |
