The active ingredients of the compositions of the invention are 2-halo-6-methyl-9-ergolene derivatives of formula (I),<!-- EPO <DP n="2"> --><Chemistry id="chema01" num="0001"><Image id="ia01" he="56" wi="94" file="IMGA0001.TIF" imgContent="chem" imgFormat="TIFF" inline="no" /></Chemistry>wherein X represents a chlorine, bromine or iodine atom as well as their acid addition salts.

The compositions of the invention contain an effective dose of the compound of formula (I) or an acid addition salt thereof.
