A metallurgical recarburizing material produced by proportioning fine coke and fine powder iron which are 1mm or less in particle size, adding and mixing a binder with the proportioned fine coke and iron and forming the mixture into pellets or briquettes. The material can be effectively added to a metallurgical furnace such as a steelmaking electric furnace.
