PURPOSE:To obtain a rice ball containing a large amount of filling material stuffed widely in the ball and having high nutrient value, by forming cooked rice in a prescribed form, putting a filling material into a cavity formed to the top of the formed cooked rice, and covering the cavity integrally with cooked rice formed in the same form as above. CONSTITUTION:The upper mold 1 and the lower mold 2 each having the shape of triangular, square or circular vessel are stuffed with cooked rice 3, 4. The amount of the cooked rice 4 stuffed in the lower mold 2 is made to be somewhat smaller than the amount in the upper mold. A broad cavity 6 is formed on the cooked rice 4 of the lower mold 2 near the outer circumference using a thick pressing tool 5. The cavity 6 is filled with a filling material 8 with a filling apparatus 7. The upper mold 1 and the lower mold 2 are joined together facing the openings to each other and pressed until the cooked rice 3 in the upper mold 1 is integrated to the cooked rice 4 in the lower mold 2. The upper mold 1 is separated from the lower mold 2 to release the objective rice ball A. The filling material 8 is e.g. pulp of pickled plum, salted salmon, salted cod roe, cooked edible wild plant, salad or their mixture, etc. |
