PURPOSE:To improve reproducing efficiency and an SN ratio by forming a slit intersected with a current direction on a part superposed to a magnetic york of a magneto-resistance effect element and forming a slit intersected with a magnetic flux passing direction on the magneto-resistance element. CONSTITUTION:Since current supplied through electric poles 18a, 18b can be concentrically made to flow into an effective part other than the superposed part of the magnetic yorks 14, 16a, 16b of the magneto-resistance effect element 17, the change of electric resistance on the effective part which may be generated by the magnetic flux change from a magnetic recording medium 11 can be detected as a reproduced output larger than the same current supply, so that the reproducing efficiency can be improved. In addition, current to be made to flow into the superposed part on which resistance change due to the magnetic flux from a magnetic recording medium 11 is reduced can be suppressed, so that an noise component to be mixed with the reproduced output can be reduced and the SN ratio can be remarkably improved together with the increase of the reproduced output due to the improvement of the reproducing efficiency. |
