PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce the instrument installing space inside a car by enabling an interior air conditioning unit of being housed in a compact form inside an instrumental panel disposed in the middle of the front panel so as to eliminate the need of a installing space reserved under the instrumental panel at the side of an assistant driver's seat. CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner case 10 which is disposed adjacently to the middle part inside a vehicle's instrumental panel is divided into upper and lower sections. A heater core 11 using an engine cooling water as a heat source is housed inside the lower section while the evaporator 12 of refregerating cycle is housed inside the upper section. Air fed by a blower 14 passes through the heater core 11 or an evaporator 12 inside the air conditioner case 10, flows into an air mixing part 13, and then sent therefrom toward a vent supply port 17 and so forth. The blower 14 is disposed on the forward side of the air conditioner case 10 with respect to a vehicle, that is, on the side of an engine room, and has the same position relation with the air conditioner case 10 with respect to the lateral direction of a vehicle. An internal air and external air change-over box is mounted on the blower 14. |
