<p>PURPOSE:To establish a vehicle assembly means for a mixed several kind vehicle-model assembly line system, by providing a positioning device comprising a circulating storage mechanism for circulating a body side support fixture in a loop-like pattern, and ad rive device for transferring an underbody jig carrier vehicle along two stage upper and lower paths. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle body assembly line has a temporarily tapping station 3 and an additionally tapping station which are arranged in the mentioned order along a conveyer path for a tacked vehicle body 22, and is provided with an underbody jig carrier vehicle 4 for introducing an underbody 2 mounted on a skid 1 to the temporarily tapping station 3. In order to deliver a support fixture 5 from an engagement starting position for a body side 6 to an assembling position on the temporarily tapping station 3, there is provided a positioning and sliding device 7 provided with a circulating storage mechanism 23 for circulating the support fixture 5 in a loop-like pattern. Further a drive device 10 for transferring the jig carrier vehicle 4 along two stage upper and lower circulating paths 8, 9 is provided in the temporarily tapping station 3.</p> |
