Disclosed is an optical film having good haze properties, wherein bleedout hardly occurs and deformation problems of the raw material film such as horseback defects and projection defects do not occur even when the film is stored for a long time. Also disclosed are a method for producing such an optical film, a polarizing plate using the optical film, and a liquid crystal display using the polarizing plate. Specifically disclosed is an optical film characterized by containing at least one polymer compound derived from a compound represented by the following general formula (1).
