发明名称 ELECTROLYTE CLEANING METHOD FOR ZINC-HALOGEN BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To easily remove organic substances in an electrolyte by performing halogen removing treatment to electrolyte of a zinc-halogen battery, and adsorbing organic substances in the electrolyte in activated carbon to remove them. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte of zinc-halogen battery is composed of an aqueous solution of pH 0-3, mainly comprising zinc halide. Halogen concentration in the electrolyte is reduced by halogen removing treatment, then organic substances in the electrolyte are adsorbed in activated carbon to remove them. The halogen removing treatment is performed by blowing other gasses, especially air or nitrogen into the electrolyte. The treatment is performed in an electrolyte bath 4 or in a deareration bath 5 which is separately installed. adsorbing of organic substances in activated carbon is performed by passing electrolyte through an activated carbon layer 2, or mixing and stirring the electrolyte with activated carbon, and then separating them. Thereby, organic substances can easily be removed.
