PURPOSE:To enable a sharp indication to be maintained even when a transparent film is formed on the surface of a coating material film after marking, by a marking method wherein laser is directed to the coating material film to change the light-affected property of the ingredient in the coating material. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of a package 1 provided as a matter to be marked, a coating material for marking 3 is adhered on the area required to indicate a mark by an appropriate means such as an offset press 2. The coating material for marking, containing the ingredient changing its light- affected property on laser irradiation, is so constructed as to allow its adhesion on the surface of the package. By using a proper means such as a laser- irradiating device 7, a laser 5 is so irradiated as to indicate a desired mark 6 on a coating material film 4. The laser-irradiating device 7, provided with a laser source 8 and a mask 9 having thereon a window 10 shaped to the pattern corresponding to the desired mark, allows the desired mark 6 to be formed on the marking material film 4 by the laser 5 transmitted through the window 10 in the mask 9. |
