NEW MATERIAL:The tetrapyrrole compound which is a fluorescent mono-, di- or polyamide of an aminodicarboxylic acid and a tetrapyrrole containing >=3 carboxyl group and represented by the formula (Z is aminodicarboxylic acid residue free from amino group; X is tetrapyrrole residue free from carboxyl group; n is 1-4). EXAMPLE:Mono(L)-aspartylchlorin e6. USE:Agent for the diagnosis and remedy for the tumor of mammals. PREPARATION:The compound of formula can be produced by reacting a tetrapyrrole containing >=3 carboxyl groups with an aminodicarboxylic acid in the presence of a proper solvent.
