PURPOSE:To improve the control stability at the time of cornering by inserting a rubber reinforcing layer between carcass plies along a side wall starting from the shoulder ending at the upper end of a bead filler where the hardness, the thickness, and the length of the rubber reinforcing layer are specified in a racing tire having a large flatness. CONSTITUTION:A rubber reinforcing layer 7 is inserted into a tire side wall starting from its shoulder 8 ending at the lower side of a bead filler 6 passing through the upper end of the filler. The reinforcing layer 7 is specified to have the hardness value HS of more than 50, the thickness of 1.0-5.0mm, and the length L of more than 50% of the tire height H in cross section. And it is also specified that the angle of a fiber cord of the carcass ply 4 to the circumferential direction is 20-40 deg., the density of the cord is 20-65 threads per 50mm to the transversal direction, and the 100% modulus of elasticity of coated rubber is 30-70kg/cm<2>. In addition, a ratio H/W is specified to be 0.25-0.75 where H represents the height of a tire in cross section, and W represents the maximum width of the tire in cross section. This configuration improves the control stability at the time of cornering. |
