FIELD: cloths, compounds, and films affording protection against detrimental impacts presenting safety risk (radiation, chemicals, biological agents, fire, missiles). ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed radiation shielding compound is produced by mixing material opaque to radioactive radiation, such as barium, bismuth, tungsten, or their compounds with powdered polymer or liquid solution, emulsion, or polymer suspension in solvent or water.
