PURPOSE:To estimate the performance of an ion-exchange resin used in a condensate demineralizer by separating an anion-exchange resin in a mixed resin having large grain diameter, forming a mixed bed of the separated resin and a cation-exchange resin and measuring the conductivity, etc., of the water treated with the mixed bed. CONSTITUTION:Provided that the deterioration is performance of a condensate demineralizer is due to the reaction rate of the anion-exchange resin used, the effect on the reaction rate resulting from contaminants is increased with the increasing diameter of the grain. Accordingly, the sampled mixed resin is separated into a cation-exchange resin and an anion-exchange resin, the anion-exchange resin is screened to obtain the resin having >=0.84mm diameter, a mixed resin bed is formed, water contg. salts is passed through the bed and the conductivity of the treated water or the amt. of leaked ions is measured. Consequently, the deterioration can be accurately estimated in advance before the condensate demineralizer does not function normally. |
