FINGERPRINT COLLATING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent the collation of fingerprints with use of imitation fingers by providing a finger touch means containing a recessed/projected pattern in a finger inserting port. CONSTITUTION:A finger to be identified is put into a finger inserting port 9. Here the finger tip pattern is recognized through the feeling of the recessed/ projected parts of a finger touch means 11 set at the port 9. Then (n) types of recessed/projected patterns are displayed on a display means 18 at a terminal. Then the user supplies the correct answer of a specific pattern within the means 18 via an input part 19 after recognition given by feeling with a finger of the other hand. If no correct answer is obtained, the inserted finger is pulled once out of the port 9 to reset an initial state. While it is decided whether the finger is pulled out or not and at the same time the finger is inserted more inside after a door 12 is opened when a correct answer is obtained. Thus a fingerprint collecting operation is carried out.
