PURPOSE:To increase the picture processing speed by deciding whether or not picture information read out of a picture memory according to window signals is set within a designated memory area and performing the picture processing with the arithmetic processing code designated in response to the result of said decision. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd arithmetic processing code registers 26 and 27 store the 1st and 2nd arithmetic codes supplied via a system interface 20 and then apply them to an arithmetic part 23. The part 23 receives the control of a window control part 28 and selects an arithmetic processing code. Then the part 23 carries out an arithmetic operation indicated by the processing code with respect to the picture information read out of a display memory 24 and the picture information supplied via an input/output control part 22. The part 28 compares the information on a window area supplied via the interface 20 with the address information supplied via the part 22 and controls the part 23 is response to the result of comparison. |
