The invention relates to sailing. Tube winding system which comprises a rotary drum 22, rotationally secured to a jib stay 6 mounted rotationally, and a flexible link which can be wound on the said drum, the said system being characterised in that the said flexible link consists of a flat strap 24. This system makes it possible to manoeuvre the jib from the cockpit without the risk of wedging or blocking of the drum 22. <IMAGE>
