The invention relates to a machine for making dough pieces, prior to cooking. The dough contained in bulk in the hopper 1 is cut up by the cutter which has a sliding drawer 4, the dough pieces fall into the chute 13 towards the receiving unit 24. The oblique rising conveyor 24 raises them, causing them to roll along a stationary wall where they progressively assume the shape of a ball, before being discharged. The wheel 23 is for adjusting the position of a cam chassis, in order to define the unit weight of each dough piece. Application: manufacture of balls of dough of a defined, adjustable unit weight.
