The invention relates to a basketball goal which can be raised, with a height-adjustable board. The goal comprises a carrier arm 10 mounted so as to pivot via one end on the framework and which carries at its other end a board with circle 58, an actuating mechanism comprising a cable 76 fastened via one end 88 to the board and winding around pulleys 78 to 86 for returning towards a drive member 72, and at least one stay cable 90, 92, anchored on the carrier arm and on the framework, which, when stretched, defines the lowered position of the carrier arm. The board 58 is equipped, on its rear face, with a guide system 46, 48, 54, 56 which enables it to slide vertically relative to the carrier arm between stationary stops carried by the latter and which define the bottom or mini-basket position of the board. <IMAGE>
