Automation device for quality checking at various stages of the manufacture of a product

This device is capable, on the one hand, of processing the information relating to the results of quality checking operations carried out during defined phases of the production process of a product, and, on the other hand, of giving back - in response to this processing - information intended to indicate the degree of checking carried out and possibly to modify the rules defining the checking in question. Each checking phase comprises a terminal for transmitting the inspection results to data processing means and light indicators for permanently signalling its quality level. These terminals and indicators may be assigned to the inspection of several products which are different from one another, each product comprising several manufacturing phases to be checked. Each of these phases relates to several families of parameters to be checked and each of these families has several parameters to be checked. The invention finds an application in quality control of high-volume manufacture using warning limits and rejection criteria as statistical monitoring modes. <IMAGE>
