PURPOSE:To roll a tapered surface with a simple mechanism by immovably holding a work having the tapered surface on the outside periphery in the axial direction and rotationally pressing plural bevel rolling dies or bevel rolling die pair rotating in the directions opposite from each other at the center line perpendicular to the axial center. CONSTITUTION:The work 22 having the tapered surface 16 on the outside periphery is attached by a holder 20 and is freely rotatably held in such a manner that the work cannot move in the large-diameter direction of the tapered surface at the axial center. The plural bevel rolling dies 64, 66 are pressed to the tapered surface 16 to roll said surface or a pair of the bevel rolling dies 30, 32 having rolling parts 38 rotating in the directions opposite from each other at the common center line XY perpendicular to the axial center of the work 22 are rotationally pressed to the tapered surface 16 of the work 22, by which said surface is rolled. The rolling of the tapered surface of the work is easily executed by the simple mechanism. The rolling may also be executed by successively providing a notch, a lead part, parallel tooth part and relief tooth part to the objective rolling part 38 of the dies 30, 32 and rotating and quickly stopping the dies 30, 32. |
