The device is used to produce patties made of a core composed of one kind of sausage meat and a casing which surrounds the core and is made of another kind of sausage meat. It contains a hydraulically or pneumatically controllable reciprocating plate and two filling pipes which are arranged above and concentrically with the latter. The said plates are connected to filling devices for the two kinds of sausage meat. To produce a patty, a container is placed on the plate. The latter is then raised, causing the container to be pushed across the two filling pipes. Then the two kinds of sausage meat are pressed into the container via the filling pipes as the plate, and therefore the container, are lowered. In a known device of this type, the two kinds of sausage meat can become mixed up. To ensure precise mutual delimitation of the two kinds of sausage meat, according to the invention the inner filling pipe is situated opposite the outer filling pipe. This ensures that the sausage meat first emerges from the outer filling pipe and has already adopted a specific shape before the sausage also emerges from the inner filling pipe as the container starts to descend.
