The printed products (9) are wound standing upright on a rotationally driven winding core (4) the axis of rotation (4a) of which extends vertically or somewhat inclined with respect to the vertical. On the underside of the winding core (4) there is arranged a co-rotating supporting disc (3), on which the printed products (9) lie with their lower lateral edge (9c) which runs transversely to the axis of rotation (4a). By means of the imbricated formation (8), a supporting belt (13) running on the external side (12) of the winding core is wound, and supports the printed products (9) of the outermost winding (11a) of the reel (11). <IMAGE>
