An apparatus for providing a streaming service by using an internal buffer and a method thereof are provided to use the internal buffer during the performance of the streaming service to a terminal to improve the efficiency of a memory use, thereby transmitting many files with the same capacity of memory resources and significantly reducing the frequency of disk input/output necessary to load a high-capacity file. A terminal(10) downloads contents through a streaming server(40) and uses a streaming service. A RTP WAS(Realtime Transport Protocol Web Application Server)(20) provides information about the streaming service to the terminal when the terminal connects with the streaming server. A contents information management server(30) transmits information about managing contents to the RTP WAS when the RTP WAS receives a request for the streaming service information. The streaming server loads and caches meta data of the contents information, prepares the streaming service of the contents by using a buffer, and provides the streaming service of the contents to the terminal when the terminal requires the streaming service. An NAS(Network Attached Storage)(50) provides the contents to the streaming server. |
