Parent patent process of edge-bonding light-hardenable, thermoplastics, elastomeric, printing plates and comprises trimming the printing plate before image-forming exposure; joining them at the edges and heating the zones adjacent the edges to be joined with application of pressure until they are welded together, with formation of a smooth welding seam. In this addn., the printing plate which is applied seamlessly over a printing roller, is placed onto the roler so that its edges overlap. The overlapping edge zones are trimmed with a side-milling cutter to leave a gap of predetermined width between the adjacent edges. The edges are then joined together and fixed. A protective strip is fixed upon the roller so that it comes to lie under the gap. The strip, which is subsequently removed is pref. made of polyethylene terephthalate film, 0.1 mm thick. |
