PURPOSE:To improve the color rendering of a fluorescent lamp by coating the inner surface of the glass tube with two phosphor layers. CONSTITUTION:A first phosphor for the first layer activated with divalent europium the absorption band of which ranges between the wavelengths of 400nm - 470nm, is one used for a high color-rendering fluorescent lamp and has an absorption band of wavelengths below 470nm. Besides, it minimally absorbs light with wavelengths of at least 470nm. Addition of this phosphor to the first phosphor layer reduces the amount of a second phosphor used and reduces the absorption for wavelengths longer than 480nm. Consequently, in creased emissional efficiency and improved color rendering are achieved. |
