The vibrator unit serves to transmit vibrations of differing frequencies and amplitudes to different objects, e.g. for industrial purposes, particularly for materials testing, failure investigation in buildings, for the purpose of establishing transportation damages, etc., and also for installation in road building machinery. In a vibrator unit according to the invention, the unbalance is provided as a liquid (F) which is continuously pumped by means of a pump (28) from a liquid reservoir (36) into a cavity (11), arranged eccentrically relative to the axis (2) of rotation, of a rotating flyball (7) and is flung back from there into the reservoir (36) as a consequence of the centrifugal force via a narrow outlet channel (13) - etc. If the pump (28) is switched off, the cavity (11) is emptied virtually instantaneously, and the vibrations immediately stop. However, the flyball (7) continues to rotate unaffected and is ready at any time to resume circulation of liquid. In all known vibrator units, after the drive machine was stopped the rotation of the flyball continued for minutes, and after the drive was switched on again it was almost just as long until the desired speed was achieved again. This decisive defect of the vibrators previously known has been overcome completely by the invention described here. It opens up novel perspectives for the use of vibrators. <IMAGE>
