The invention relates to a fluid transmission with primary working cylinders (1, 2) and secondary working cylinders (3, 4), in which are arranged working pistons (6, 7, 8, 9 executing translatory movements. The working cylinders are each connected in pairs to one another via fluid conduits (10, 11). The working pistons (6, 7) are assigned a gear mechanism (17) for converting rotary motion into translatory motion, the said mechanism consisting essentially of partially toothed gear wheels (19, 20) on an input shaft (18), crown wheels (21, 22) meshing with the gear wheels (19, 20), and screw drives (23, 24). The gear wheels (19, 20) mesh alternately with the associated crown wheels (21, 22), with the result that the working pistons (6, 7) are raised alternately to the upper end position. Since the operative piston surfaces of the primary working pistons (6, 7) are smaller than the operative piston surfaces of the secondary working pistons (8, 9), there is a corresponding multiplication of the forces transmitted. <IMAGE>
