PURPOSE:To stabilize the quantity of an active material applied to a core, by completely melting a powder of a kind of coking agent in mixing, and thereafter melting a powder of another kind of coking agent at a high temperature, to suppress the irregularity of viscosity immediately after the mixing and suppress the decrease in the viscosity during storage in the form of a paste. CONSTITUTION:65 parts of a powder of cadmium oxide, 6 parts of a powder of metallic nickel, 3 parts of polyvinyl alcohol of completely saponified type, 1 part of polyvinyl alcohol of partly saponified type and 12 parts of a solution of ethylene glycol are mixed together for 2 hours. At that time, the 1 part of polyvinyl alcohol of partly saponified type is all molten but the 3 parts of polyvinyl alcohol of completely saponified type is never molten, so that the viscosity of a paste produced as a result of the mixing hardly change during storage. The paste is applied to a core made of a nickel-plated punched iron sheet and then kept at a temperature of 150 deg.C for 10min so that the polyvinyl alcohol of completely saponified type is molten. Power for binding the grains of the cadmium oxide to each other and power for binding the cadmium oxide to the core are thus generated. |
