The invention relates to an actuating device of an apparatus for changing feed bobbins, especially on automatic winding machines, which contains a freely rotatably mounted ratchet wheel, which is actuated by a coupling of the device for the repetition of knotting attempts, and a control cam, which actuates a cam lever provided with a projection for activating the apparatus for changing feed bobbins. The object of the invention is to design the device in such a way that, after a specific number of futile knotting attempts, a final attempt is carried out by other means before the machine is stopped, in order to put incorrectly wound feed bobbins out of operation. According to the invention, the ratchet wheel is assigned an actuating cam, with which an actuating lever mounted in a bracket is in engagement, this actuating lever is connected to a pull rod, and the pull rod is provided with a pin for an arm arranged transversely relative to the axis of the pin and forming a component of the cam lever.
