This system concerns the internal or external liquid-impermeable seal for one or a number of almost parallel incoming or outgoing cables in a joint box by means of a locking element. This locking element fills the space between the cable sheaths and the joint box while bearing against the cable sheaths and the joint box, and is adhesively bonded to the cable sheaths and the joint box, where the joint box consists of a tubular sleeve or a collar which can be closed lengthways, and is constructed of shrinkable plastic. The locking element is an extruded section of plastic with one or more longitudinal holes which are shrunk onto the branching cables.
