Display device with an electro-optical cell

A display device having an electro-optical cell is described, in which electrical components, for example flat-pack ICs are arranged directly on a support plate. For the purpose of electrical connection of the terminals with the printed conductors on the support plate, a large-area layer is provided in such a way that between the terminals and the associated printed conductors a low ohmic resistance can be measured, whereas between the printed conductors themselves there is a high ohmic resistance. If a suitable conductive adhesive is used, the support plate can be coated over a large area, i.e. including regions between the printed conductors, without incurring the risk of a short circuit between the printed conductors.
