PURPOSE:To prevent thermal strain generated in a laser active medium by constituting the laser active medium to an extremely thin tabular shape. CONSTITUTION:A laser active medium is formed to a sheet shape having an extremely adjacent opposite main surface. Three pieces of laser glass 14 (141-143) are fixed so as to run parallel mutually through supporters 12, 13 into a reflector 11 in which a surface such as an inner surface is plated with gold and an optical reflecting surface is constituted, and eight lamps 15(151-158) for excitation are arranged at every two so as to hold several laser active mediums 14. Laser glass manufactured by processing phosphate-based layer glass LHG-8 containing 4mol% Nd2O3 and having thickness of t=8mmi used as respective laser glass 14, and beams projected from end surfaces processed at theta=45 deg. alternately repeat total reflection eight times on mutually parallel opposite main surfaces 14A, 14B. |
