摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to record a dot having a normal shape on transfer paper which is extremely inferior in surface smoothness or a film not high in the compatibility with ink, in a printing apparatus for transferring an ink recording part to a transfer medium by magnetic attraction force, by preventing the contact of ink with the transfer medium at a non-recording part. CONSTITUTION:A printing apparatus has a heat energy applying means 11 for applying heat energy to a recording part 13 of thermoplastic magnetic ink and a magnetic attracting force generation means 15 for generating magnetic attraction force in the ink and transfers the ink recording part to a transfer medium 14 by magnetic attraction force under the control of the application of heat energy. The ink is not contacted with the transfer medium 14 at an ink non-recording part 12. The transfer of the ink is performed by a method wherein the ink is melted at a transfer part by heat energy and the ink recording part is deformed or flown by magnetic attraction force in an ink activated state due to heat. Therefore, even a high density recording dot having an especially small area can be recorded on a transfer medium inferior in surface smoothness such as rough paper in a normal shape with good transfer efficiency.
