PURPOSE:To materialize a cost reduction based on a reduction in a production loss by obtaining an excellent extruded product and improving quality of crosslinking polyethylene, by a method wherein a stringlike molded material which is obtained by wrapping up an organic peroxide in polyethylene is fed to an extruding machine while the polyethylene is being fed to the extruding machine and both are kneaded and extruded uniformly. CONSTITUTION:An organic peroxide wrapped up in polyethylene, that is, a crosslinking-agent-loaded stringlike molded material B is fed to a hopper 4 of an extruding machine along with polyethylene chips A at a fixed rate, both of which are molted and kneaded within a cylinder 1 along with a rotation of a screw. Then when the same is extruded through a head 3, it hardly occurs that the organic peroxide B comes into contact directly with a high-temperature cylinder 1 and mixed completely and uniformly with the polyethylene. In addition to the above, an appropriate quantity of an antioxidant such as amine series or phenol series or imidazole series can be loaded within the polyethylene as required or within the organic peroxide according to circumstances. |
