PURPOSE:To estimate the genuine factor of a fault from the combination of the results of estimation of a common factor and a multiplex factor, by providing a function to deliver a request for error sign observation, a request for overlook sign observation and a request for reconsideration of causal relation respectively. CONSTITUTION:The observed sign of a fault is supplied to an input/output device 1 having a display screen and stored in a sign candidate storing device 5c. An arithmetic processor 3 refers to a causal relation storing device 5a to calculate the load of a common factor and stores the load to a factor candidate storing device 5b as long as the load is approximate to '1'. While the the load of the sequential multiplex factor is calculated when the load is approximate to '0'. Then it is decided that the diagnosis of the fault is impossible if the load is approximate to '0'. Then a request for error sign observation is displayed with the first observation as long as the load is approximate to '1'. While a multiplex fault is decided after reobservation. The device 3 refers to both devices 5a and 5b and displays a request for overlook sign observation when a new sign is detected other than those signs stored in the device 5c and then displays a request for reconsideration of causal relation when the 2nd sign is detected. |
