PURPOSE:To operate smoothly an adapter with one external operation member and to improve the operability by arranging the adapter so that the external operation member which controls a lens driving means is placed down obliquely when the adapter is set to a camera body. CONSTITUTION:A driving mechanism of a driving part 1b of an adapter 1 is operated in accordance with the indication of the detection signal from a focus detecting mechanism in a camera body 3 to drive automatically a conversion lens, and thus, focusing is performed. The driving part 1b of the adapter 1 is placed under the conversion lens and is projected to the side where an interchangeable lens 2 is set. A focus lock button 9 is arranged on the side face in a part, which is projected to the side of the interchangeable lens 2, of the driving part 1b, and the focus lock button 9 is arranged in a proper distance from the camera body 3 when the adapter 1 is set between the interchangeable lens 2 and the camera body 3, and thus, the operability is improved when the camera is held at the ready. |
