A filling system for an electric battery 10, 11 comprising a plurality of filler devices 12 associated with respective cells 10, 11 of the battery, said devices 12 preventing further liquid from entering a cell when a predetermined liquid level has been reached therein, a reservoir 20, a conduit 13 connecting a plurality of said filler devices 12 in series for carrying liquid from said reservoir 20 to said devices 12, a pump 21 coupled to said conduit 13 downstream of said filler devices 12 for drawing liquid from said reservoir 20, and a container 23 connected to said conduit at a location between the first and last of the series arrangement of said filler devices 12, said container 23 being provided with means 24 for permitting liquid to pass to and from said container 23 and for preventing gas from being withdrawn therefrom. <IMAGE> |
