PURPOSE:To make both wet performance and rectilinear stability compatible with each other, by specifying a ratio between the occupied area of a see- through section passing straight through the center of each of a plurality of circumferential main grooves formed in the tread section of a tire, and the whole area of each main groove. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of main grooves 1 are formed in the tread section of a tire along the circumferential direction A of the latter, and several subgrooves 2 are formed between the main grooves 1, crossing the main grooves 1 at certain intervals in the longitudinal direction of the latter so that several blocks 5 through 7 are formed. Similarly, several subgrooves 3 are formed between the main grooves 1 and both edge sections, crossing them at certain intervals in the longitudinal direction of the latter so that several blocks 8 are formed. Further, curve groove walls 10 are formed at both sides of blocks 4-8. With this arrangement, a see-through section 9 having a width (w) which is defined between lines 11 tangential to the curve walls 10 is formed in the center part of each main groove 1. In this arrangement, the ratio of the occupied area (a) of the see-through section 9 to the whole area A of each main groove 1, that is, a/A is set in the range from 0.5-0.7. |
