Turbine machine of the type comprising a rotor 1 comprising a shaft 2 equipped with at least one wheel 3 to 6 and a stator 7 surrounding the rotor and comprising a low-pressure end equipped with an orifice 13 and a high-pressure end equipped with an orifice 14, the said shaft having a first end situated in the stator and subjected to one of the two said pressures and a second end emerging from the stator through a seal 15, which turbine machine comprises an axial balance piston 16 situated on the shaft inside the stator and whose two opposite faces are subjected to different pressures, characterised in that the said piston is staged over two separate diameters 0a, 0b, a sealing device 20, 21 being arranged in the region of each diameter of the piston between the piston and the stator, an intermediate cavity 22 inside the stator being made between the said two seals, in that a duct 23 connects the said intermediate cavity to a volume 24 linked to the said high pressure and in that an isolation valve 26 makes it possible to shut off the communication between the said volume and the orifice of the corresponding end of the stator. <IMAGE> |
