<p>A control system (70, 20) for an infinitely variable transmission has a transmission ratio control valve having a spool for controlling oil supplied to a cylinder (9) of a drive pulley (7) to change the transmission ratio. Deceleration rate of a motor vehicle is detected to produce a deceleration signal. By controlling the pressure of oil supplied to the transmission ratio control valve in accordance with engine (1) operating conditions and deceleration signal, the spool is shifted, so that downshifting speed is increased. </p> |
