<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems associated with conventional movement assisting apparatuses such as a subject having a difficulty in standing up cannot easily and safely carry out standing-up movement and subsequent walking movement from a bed by oneself. <P>SOLUTION: A movement assisting apparatus is provided which has a movable base 1 with an upper limb-supporting section 3. A pair of right and left arms 5 projecting in the direction of a user are supported on the base rotatably in the longitudinal direction.
