PURPOSE:To convert 5-substituted hydantoin and N-carbamoylamino acid to respective corresponding L-amino acids, in high efficiency, by using a novel microbial strain belonging to Arthrobacter genus. CONSTITUTION:A novel microbial strain belonging to Arthrobacter genus and capable of converting 5-substituted hydantoin and N-carbamoylamino acid to respective corresponding L-amino acids [Arthrobacter sp. DP-B-1002 (FERM-P 8191)] is cultured in a proper medium, and the obtained culture product, culture liquid, microbial cell, treated cell, etc., is used as an enzyme source and made to react with 5-substituted hydantoin or N-carbamoylamino acid. |
