Sixth-order harmonic noise generated due to a torque ripple component corresponding to a sixth-order frequency of an inverter frequency is reduced in a power converter for use of an electric vehicle. Where three pulses included in a 1/2 cycle of the inverter frequency in a PWM waveform for controlling a switching element of an inverter unit for driving the motor is assumed to be a first pulse, a second pulse and a third pulse, respectively in the generated order, when a motor for propelling the electric vehicle is driven in a 3-pulse mode, and where a pulse width of the first pulse is (Tp), a half of a pulse width (pulse half value width) of the second pulse is (Tq), a pulse width of the third pulse is (Tr), and a cycle of the inverter frequency is (T), they are specified to satisfy relations of Tq=T/8, Tp=Tq/2 and Tr=Tq/2 among the pulse width (Tp) of the first pulse, the pulse half value width (Tq) of the second pulse, the pulse width (Tr) of the third pulse, and the cycle (T) of the inverter frequency.
|
