发明名称 ALCOHOL SELECTIVE DETECTING ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To detect alcohol with high accuracy by depositing the oxide of a metal contg. at least one of alkaline earth metal on a tin oxide semiconductor. CONSTITUTION:Magnesium which provides one of representative basic catalysts among alkaline earth metals is first selected for a heat ray type semiconductor gas detecting element consisting essentially of tin oxide. The element is impreg nated in an aq. soln. of about 0.48mol/l nitrate thereof Mg(NO3)2 and after the element is dried in air, the element is further calcined for about 30min at about 600 deg.C in the air, by which the alcohol selectivity is provided to the element. The alcohol detecting element obtd. in such a manner is incorporated into one side of a bridge circuit, by which the detector for the selective detection of the gaseous alcohol is obtd. The gas sensitivity of the detecting element is obtd. by measuring the difference between the equilibrium potential of the bridge in the air and the equilibrium potential of the bridge in the environment of the gaseous to be detected of certain concn.
