PURPOSE:To prevent unevenness in development and transfer, and growth of bacteria and mold by transferring a diffusive dye produced or released from a dye donor in response or reverse response to the reaction of reduction of silver ions to silver, from a photosensitive element through the medium of water to a dye fixing element in the presence of a bacteria and mold inhibitor. CONSTITUTION:The heat-developable color photosensitive material has the photosensitive element formed on a support containing at least photosensitive silver halide, a binder resin, and the dye donor capable of producing or releasing the diffusive dye in response or reverse response to the reaction when silver ions are reduced to silver by heat development, and the diffusive dye formed by imagewise exposure and heat development, is transferred from the photosensitive element through the medium of water to the dye fixing element in the presence of at least one kind of a bacteria and mold inhibitor, such as a thiazolylbenzimidazole derivative. As the water to be used, drinking water, general industrial water, and so on, are used, and a water softener is added together with said inhibitor. The water may be added anytime before the dye transfer, and a good-quality image can be obtained by drying the water remaining on the surface not absorbed with the coating layer. |
