PURPOSE:To provide a fungicidal composition useful to prevent the microbial problems of industrial water system and products for general industry, by compounding tetrahalogenated isophthalonitrile with a dibromide or bronopol. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) tetrahalogenated isophthalonitrile exhibiting remarkable effect against mold but having insufficient activity to bacteria with (B) dibromide (2,2-dibromo-2- cyanoacetamide) or bronopol (2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol) exhibiting low activity against mold among microorganisms or using the above components in combination. The ratio of (A) to (B) is 1:4-4:1. The weak points of the components are diminished and a synergistic effect is attained by the combined use of both components. |
