X-Ray sheet-film cartridge of plastic having at least one elastically deformable cartridge part

An X-ray sheet-film cartridge of plastic has two cartridge parts which are connected by means of a hinge and of which at least one is permeable to X-rays and is elastically deformable. The said cartridge has a closure for releasably locking the cartridge parts, labyrinthal light-sealing elements between the cartridge parts, at least one intensifying screen in one of the cartridge parts and a foam sheet in the cartridge part for averting the X-rays, the said sheet being provided for compressing the film and intensifying screen or screens in the closed state of the cartridge. The said cartridge is designed such that the foam sheet (8) is surrounded on all sides by a sheathing (13), which has at least one opening (13a; 13b) permitting slow escape of the air during compressing of the foam sheet (8). This achieves the effect that the pressure-applying force during closing of the cartridge is adequate for compressing the film and intensifying screens and then reduces to a value by which the plastic parts are no longer distortingly curved.
