The invention provides a method for nuclear magnetic resonance imaging in which a calculated image of the value of the molecular diffusion at each point of a studied medium is given. The image of the diffusion is obtained by comparing images relating to the same slices of the medium and acquired during two excitation sequences TE, N.TE, one of which has a low sensitivity to diffusion and the other of which is very sensitive thereto. These two images are processed in comparison to each other in order to form a diffusion image. <IMAGE>
