Device for eliminating electrical charges on surfaces

An increase in the ion current emitted from an ionisation rod or another ionisation device for the elimination of electrostatic charges on surfaces, is achieved by means of a mixed resistive-capacitive coupling of a high-voltage source and corona-discharge electrode. The electrically and dielectrically conductive material which is fitted between the high-voltage supply and the corona-discharge electrode increases the usable ion current, if it is suitably dimensioned, without reducing the electric-shock protection of the ionisation rod.
